Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan holds commemorative event on coal mine explosion in Turkey –

Baku: Mubariz Aslanov; Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan has today held a commemorative event on the explosion occurred in the coal mine in Soma district of Turkey’s Manisa province.

APA reports that Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Abid Sharifov, well-known public and political figures, Turkish businessmen in our country and representatives of the diplomatic mission attended the event.

Sharifov said that very hard and tragic event occurred in the coal mine in Turkey: “Azerbaijani people are praying for citizens died in Turkey. Azerbaijan has always supported Turkey and it will be so from now on. We share one another’s joy and sorrow.”

Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ismail Alper Cosgun noted that the commemorative event in Azerbaijan is being held under “One nation, two states” principle: “Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s letter of condolence and the Azerbaijani people’s support are a source of strength for Turkey.”

At the end of the event, the guests wrote down their cordial words in the Memory Book on the tragedy.

The death toll in the coal mine explosion in Turkey reached 274.

Turkey has declared three days of mourning over the tragedy.
