Turkish composer’s futuristic opera to premiere at Sureyya

A new Turkish opera that recounts a futuristic, dystopian tale set on a distant planet, which the humans are seeking to colonize after corporate greed has destroyed the entire Earth and made it uninhabitable, is set to have its world premiere later this week at the Sandureyya Opera House in Istanbul.
and”Baika Dandunyaand” (Another World), which marks the Istanbul State Opera and Balletand’s first world premiere of the 2015-2016 season, will debut on Saturday evening at 8 p.m. in KadikandOy.
The 90-minute opera in two acts, directed by Yekta Kara, has a libretto by Tarik Gandunersel and a score composed by Selman Ada, who is currently the general manager and chief artistic director of the State Opera and Ballet Directorate General.
Written in 2013, and”Baika Dandunyaand” is the fourth collaboration between Ada and Gandunersel, following their previous work on and”Ali Baba40rthouse to follow the proceedings. and”Justice has been served.
