Turkey detains 46 ISIL suspects before G-20 summit

Turkey has stepped up operations against the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in a number of provinces across Turkey as local police have detained more than 40 people suspected of having links to the militant group ahead of a key G-20 summit next week.
Turkish police detained 20 ISIL suspects in its southern province of Antalya on Friday, a week before a seaside resort there hosts a G-20 summit of world leaders, media reports said.
The arrests were part of a series of police operations against suspected members of the radical terrorist ISIL across Turkey, a major conduit for militants crossing into neighboring Syria.

Turkey vowed to take a more active role in combating ISIL in July and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said operations against them will continue.
The radical militants control territory along the Turkish border and have been linked to the suicide bombing last month of a pro-Kurdish rally in Ankara that killed more than 100 people.
