Trustee at Bugun TV fires journalist Hayko BaIdat

Journalist Hayko Baidat, who hosted a TV program called and”andOzgandur ifadeand” (Free Voice) on Bugandun TV along with columnist Nazli Ilicak, said on his Twitter account on Wednesday that he has been fired from his job.
and”A notice came to [my] house. I have been fired from Bugandun TV. This is the first time that I have been fired from somewhere. Just kidding. I am getting fired every day, and” Baidat tweeted.
Baidat, who is also a columnist for the Taraf daily, had said on Monday that he would stop writing columns for a while and that he needed some time to rest.
More than 100 journalists were fired from the ipek Media Group, which includes Bugandun TV, Kanaltandurk TV, and the Bugandun and Millet dailies, after trustees were appointed to manage companies owned by Koza ipek Holding on Oct. 26 in a government-backed move.
The trustees, who took over management of the media group, have changed the editorial line of the critical media outlets belonging to the ipek Media Group and turned them into government mouthpieces. Video footage showing the trustee who was appointed to run the Bugandun daily insulting several employees during a meeting on Oct. 29 and unlawfully dismissing those employees who refused to act in line with their orders has gone viral on social media, drawing heavy criticism.
