TRT’s children’s channel broadcasts G-20 summit hosted by ErdoIan

The state-owned Turkish Radio and Television Corporationandrsquos (TRT)hildren channel TRT andcocuk (TRT Child) broadcast some parts of Sundayand’s G-20 world leaders summit in Antalya chaired by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The channel aired some part of the first day program of G-20 leaders who gathered in Turkey for a two-day meeting on how to boost global growth as well as measures to fight Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
The unusual broadcast by TRT, which has been at the center of criticism for being a propaganda tool for the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) and Erdogan, comes one day after Turkey saw the screens of 14 TV channels go black, as well as the silencing of several radio channels that operate under the Samanyolu Broadcasting Group.
The broadcast of the TV channels and radio stations were removed from the state-owned Turkish Satellite Communications Company (Tandurksat) infrastructure in a government-backed decision as of 12 a.m. Saturday.
Even childrenand’s channel Yumurcak TV was among the channels that stopped broadcast, prompting anger from some users, who were perplexed at the idea that a childrenand’s TV station could be accused of supporting terrorism.
