Torku Konyaspor shows coach Mesut Bakkal the doorTorku Konyaspor coach Mesut Bakkal has bowed out after a string of disappointing results in the Spor Toto Super League.With one win, three draws and three defeats in seven outings — and only six points out of a possible 21 — the Konya club canceled Bakkalandrsquos contract by mutual agreement.

The last straw came when Konyaspor was beaten 2-0 away in Istanbul on Friday and the club told the underachieving coach andldquoNo mas, no mas.andrdquoFive names are already floating around as Bakkalandrsquos possible successor They are former Fenerbahe coaches Aykut Kocaman and Ersun Yanal former Gaziantepspor trainer Sergen YalIn Kayserisporandrsquos former Croatian coach Robert Prosinecki and current Kayseri Erciyesspor trainer Hikmet Karaman.

In another development, Nurullah SaIlam, the coach of PTT League side Gaziantepspor, also quit on Saturday after his team had yet to win a single match after seven outings. With four draws and three defeats, SaIlam knew his days at the southeastern club were over for good.

The interesting thing however, is that SaIlam announced his resignation on Twitter, something that is rare in Turkish football.
