Bob Dylan, Travis, Sun Ra Arkestra play for SomaTurkish concert promoter Pozitif Live will donate all the proceeds from certain events this month and June to the children of workers who died in a mine accident in the Aegean district of SomaLegendary jazz-fusion ensemble Sun Ra Arkestra’s May 20-21 concerts at the Babylon Club in Istanbul’s BeyoIlu district, as well as upcoming concerts by Bob Dylan and Travis in Istanbul, are among the top events in the “Soma iin Muzik” (Music for Soma) lineup, announced earlier this week on Pozitif Live’s website.Bob Dylan is taking to the stage on June 20 for a rare Istanbul appearance, four years after his last concert here as part of his Never Ending Tour He will be preceded on June 19 by British alternative rockers Travis at the new concert venue Black Box, which will open its doors for the first time in June.

Other Pozitif Live events included in “Soma iin Muzik” are a live gig on Thursday night by British electronicsoul trio Belleruche at the Babylon Club, a concert on June 24 by the American alternative rock band Pixies at Black Box and this year’s One Love Festival in Istanbul. Set to mark its 13th edition on the weekend of June 14-15 at Parkorman, One Love will feature live gigs by dozens of acts from around the world, including British electronic dance music duo Basement Jaxx and German band Modeselektor, among others.

All proceeds from the concerts listed in “Soma iin Muzik” will be transferred to the Community Volunteers Foundation’s (TOG) Soma Youth Scholarship Fund. The fund will support high school and university students who lost a first-degree relative in the Soma coal mine disaster on May 13, which killed 301 mine workers according to official figures.

Ticket prices range between TL 10 and TL 500 and can be purchased via Biletix. The proceeds from previously sold tickets for these events will also be transferred to the fund, Pozitif Live said.
