Three soldiers killed in PKK attack in southeastern Turkey

Terrorists from the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) conducted an attack to a police vehicle in the southeastern province of Sirnak’s Silopi district which left three police officers dead on Tuesday night.

Reportedly, bombs blasted while an armored police vehicle, which was carrying four police officers, was passing on the road. Security sources said a wide scale operation against the PKK militants started after the attack late on Tuesday, and the injured police officer is being treated for his wounds.

Family of one of the martyred officers named Hilmi Bardakci deplored over the news in the southern province of Adana. Father İsmet Bardakci, mother Selver Bardakci, spouse Havva Bardakci and children İsmail and Zehra received condolences on Wednesday morning.

Following a funeral ceremony in the city, Bardakci will be laid to rest.

More than 150 members of security forces have been killed in the conflict with the PKK or in attacks committed by the terrorist group since violence resumed in late July.
