Three arrested in an operation carried out against PKK in S.E Turkey

At least three people, two of them allegedly attending illegal demonstration for Kurdistan Workers’ Party(PKK), attacking police with hand-made explosives and fireworks while another who was determined as an active member of YPG (People Defense Units or Syrian branch of PKK/KCK), were arrested in an operation in southeastern Turkish province of Gaziantep. .

Police forces determined the arrival of a YPG members to Turkish province of Gaziantep from Syria and detained him in an operation carried out by Counter Terrorism Units of Gaziantep Police Department. After his detention, suspected was taken to the court and taken under arrest. Along with him four other suspected were detained in alleged attacking police with hand-made explosives, fireworks and attending to the illegal demonstrations in the back alleys of Gaziantep’s Sahinbey district to protest Silvan operation.

Two suspected out of four were arrested after questioning in the court. One of them was released by the court pending a trial
