Ship about to hit gas station in İstanbul’s Bosporus

A dry cargo ship ran aground in the Bosporus when its rudder was locked on Tuesday evening. There were few meters to a gas station on the shore when the large ship went aground, which prevented a massive disaster.

The 152 meter-long ship called Crown Emma entered Bosporus from the Black Sea en route to Spain from Bulgaria. Without control, the ship headed to Kirecburnu Shore when the rudder was locked. Fortunately, the ship ran aground few meters away from the gas station. Teams from coast guard evacuated people from the ship and the ship began to sail after two hours following maintenance.
