Romanian PM praises Turkish schools for success at int’l Olympiads

Romanian government awarded students who got medals during international olympiads in 2015. Students studying at Turkish schools received great appreciation during the award ceremony by winning 51 medals out of 267. Expressing his thanks to students and their teacher, Romanian Prime Minister Sorin Campeanu said they will try to spread success of Turkish schools to overall Romania.

The ceremony brought 225 students from 99 schools across the country. The students were presented with monetary award and the teachers were honored with certificates. During his speech at the ceremony, Campeanu said: “These students and teachers have honored Romania since the beginning of the year 2015. A total of 225 students have received 276 medals — 51 of which are gold — in that time. I hope that as Romania, we will be as successful in other fields as we have been [in education].”

There are 10 Turkish schools in five cities of Romania with around 3,300 students. So far, a total of 581 medals have been won by the students of the schools.
