Restoring German football will take time, says Rauball

Israeli troops shot dead at least two Palestinians during a gun battle in the occupied West Bank on Monday, Palestinian medical sources said, amid a weeks-old wave of violence.
At least three Palestinians were wounded in the confrontation at the Qalandia refugee camp near the West Bank city of Ramallah, as troops demolished the home of a militant who Israel claimed had killed an Israeli man in June.
The Israeli military claimed in a statement that troops had come under attack during the operation to destroy the home of Muhammad Abu Shaheen, who shot dead Danny Gonen in the West Bank in June.
There has been a surge of street violence since the beginning of October, with at least 14 Israelis killed in stabbings and shootings or being run down by cars. Israeli forces have killed at least 78 Palestinians, 45 of whom Israel says were carrying out or were about to carry out attacks.
The surge in violence across Israel, Jerusalem and the Israeli-occupied West Bank has been fueled in part by a dispute over access to a site in Jerusalem holy to both Muslims and Jews.
In recent days, Israel has renewed a policy of demolishing homes belonging to Palestinians alleged of carrying out deadly attacks against Israelis. On Saturday, Israel demolished three homes in the West Bank belonging to attackers who killed an Israeli couple in front of their children in the West Bank on Oct. 1. Also that day, the military demolished a fourth home belonging to a man who killed an Israeli on his way home from a basketball game.
Israel claims home demolition is a legal and effective tool to deter attacks, but critics say the tactic amounts to collective punishment.
