Poet YIlmaz OdabaII leaves Turkey to protest election results

Journalist, poet and author Yilmaz Odabaii has decided to leave Turkey and settle in France to protest the results of the Nov. 1 snap election, in which the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) regained its parliamentary majority.
The AK Party took 49.2 percent of the vote on Sunday, unofficial results showed, enough to control about 314 of the 550 seats in Parliament and a far higher margin of victory than even party insiders had expected.
Odabaii announced his decision via his Twitter account on Sunday evening and is now in Switzerland. In his tweets, he said that he would travel from Switzerland to France, where he will soon reside.
