New head appointed to State Commission on Hostages and Missing People

Azerbaijan’s First Deputy Minister of National Security Madat Guliyev has been appointed the head of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing People, the Public Relations Department of the National Security Ministry told Trend.

Guliyev has been appointed in accordance with the decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated Oct.30, 2015.

Earlier, the Comission was chaired by ex-Minister of National Security Eldar Mahmudov, who was dismissed from his post Oct.17 in accordance with the president’s decree.

Under another presidential decree, the deputy minister of justice, head of the ministry’s penitentiary service Madat Guliyev was appointed the first deputy minister of national security and was entrusted with the duties of the minister.
