Military ceremony held for martyred soldiers in southeastern Turkey

VAN: A military ceremony was held for the three soldiers who were killed in an armed attack by the terrorist Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) on Friday in the southeastern province of Hakkari.

Soldiers, Ramazan Gulle, Yunus Yılmaz and Ramazan Kose, were killed outside a business center while walking behind Cengiz Topel Avenue in Yuksekova. They were taken to Yuksekova State Hospital but died of their wounds.

The military ceremony was held at Van Gendarmerie Wind Command with the participation of many military officials. National Defense Minister Ismet Yılmaz and Van Governor Nezih Dogan were among the participants.

Following a minute of silence for the soldiers, national anthem was recited and Quran was recited during the ceremony.

Bodies of the soldiers were sent to their hometowns with planes after the ceremony.
