May 1 tension erupts at Ankara’s KIzIlay Square

ANKARA (CIHAN)- Protesters clashed with the security forces on May 1, Labor Day, as they attempted to make a demonstration at a forbidden area at KIzIlay Square in Ankara.

The protesters demanded to place carnation at a point where Ethem SarIsuluk who was fatally shot by a police officer during Gezi Park protests last year. The police let a small group of people to place carnations, but a clash broke out when more protesters attempted to enter forbidden area.
