KIlIdaroIlu calls DavutoIlu, congratulates him on election triumph

Republican Peopleand’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kiliandcdaroilu called ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party)hairman Ahmet Davutoilu on Monday and congratulated him on the AK Partyand’s success in Sundayand’s election, Prime Ministryand’s press office said.
The AK Party regained its majority in a repeat parliamentary election on Sunday, winning 49 percent of votes, according to unofficial results from the poll.
With 98 percent of the votes counted, the AK Party won a 49.29 percent share, while the main opposition CHP secured 25.5 percent. The Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) lost 25 percent of its votes compared to the June 7 election, winning just 12 percent. The pro-Kurdish Peoplesand’ Democratic Party (HDP) won 10.69 percent, just above the 10-percent threshold to enter Parliament.
The results mean that the AK Party has won back its parliamentary majority and will be able to form a single-party government again after losing its majority for the first time since 2002 in this yearand’s June 7 election.
