Italian senator: Tough stance of EP and EU against Azerbaijan – unclear

Baku: The tough stance of both European Parliament and European Union against Azerbaijan is not clear, Italian Senator Sergio Divina, who is also the head of the Italian Senate’s observation mission, told reporters in Baku on Monday.

He said stability and security prevail in Azerbaijan, but it is hard to understand the anti-Azerbaijani rhetoric of the European Parliament.

Referring to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the senator said that the Armenians living in the U.S, Russia and the world have interests in this issue.

He called unjust Europe’s position on the conflict in the background of its position on the events in the Middle East.

The Italian senator also noted with regret that in Europe there is an anti-Semitism sentiment which means a return to Nazism.
