ISESCO’s position on Karabakh conflict – clear, says Azerbaijani minister

Baku: ISESCO’s position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has always been clear and unambiguous, Azerbaijani Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev said.

He made the remarks on Monday during the 36th session of the ISESCO Executive Council in Baku.

Garayev expressed gratitude to ISESCO member states for demonstrating a common position on this issue.

Recalling that since 2006 Azerbaijan has hosted numerous events and high-level meetings through ISESCO, the minister thanked ISESCO for declaring Baku and Nakhchivan the capitals of Islamic Culture.

The minister said Baku will host the 7th Global Forum of UN Alliance of Civilizations in April 2016, expressing hope that ISESCO will join this event.

The minister went on to add that the Islamic Solidarity Games to be held in Azerbaijan in 2017 will be an important event for the future and health of the Islamic ummah.
