Human rights defender’s husband and son not allowed to leave Azerbaijan

Baku: Head of the Women’s Crisis Centre Matanat Azizova’s husband Eldar Azizov and son Jamal Azizov were detained by the Azerbaijani border guards while going to Georgia, Chief of Committee for the Defense of Oilmen Mirvari Gahramanli told APA.

Gahramanli said that her son-in-law and grandson wanted to go to Borjomi for a week: “They were not allowed to leave Azerbaijan. They were said that under the letter of the prosecutor’s office, they were not allowed to leave the country. Some of the websites reported that they were arrested. However, this is wrong information. They were not allowed to leave the country. We will appeal to the court in this regard.”
