Gov’t mouthpiece Cem Kuuk continues to make demands of media moguls

Ceyhun Bozkurt, the former news editor of the ultranationalist Aydinlik daily, has been hired to work at the Bugandun daily, which is currently being managed by a trustee. Bozkurt confirmed on his Twitter account Sunday night the reports in the Turkish media that he had been recruited. He said he quit his job at Aydinlik — which is known for its ties to the ultranationalist Homeland Party (VP) and its leader Doiu Perinandcek — a week ago and applied to Bugandun for a job.
Trustees were appointed to manage Bugandun, another newspaper and two TV stations under Koza ipek Holding, in a government-led move on Oct. 26. The trustee appointed to manage the Bugandun daily, Hasan andOlandcer, has fired several journalists since the takeover.
