Flood disaster claims 2100 lives in Afghanistan

KABIL (CIHAN)- A huge landslide which was triggered by the floods has claimed more than 2,100 live in northeastern Afghanistan.

According the report which was given by United Nations(UN) At least 2100 people have been killed and many more are missing after a tremendous landslide hit the north-east Afghan province of Badakhshan. Hundreds of homes were buried under mud and rocks when a section of a mountain collapsed following torrential rain.

According Afghan authorities more than 2100 people from the 300 family lost their live in the one of biggest land slide in Afghanistan Badakshan province.

U.N authorities in Afghanistan said also that more than 4,000 displaced by Friday’s disaster.
There is a risk of further landslides in the area, officials say.

Fazluddin Ayar, Badakshan Security Director said that many people are still been trapped under the houses after the landslide. He also added that around 500 hundreds of families are still face with the possible landslide danger in the region.
