First global conference “Trade Facilitation Post-Bali: Putting Policy into Practice” kicks off in Baku

Baku: Economics. First global conference “Trade Facilitation Post-Bali: Putting Policy into Practice” has today kicked off in Baku under the organization of International Network of Customs Universities and Azerbaijan State Custom Committee.

APA-Economics reports that nearly 200 representatives from 65 countries, as well as 3 Nobel prize winners on economy are attending the conference. The conference will last till May 23.

The attendees firstly visited Heydar Aliyev’s grave at the Alley of Honor, thereafter, Martyr’s Avenue.

Deputy Prime Minister Abid Sharifov, Chairman of the State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev and INCU President David Widdowson attended at the opening ceremony of the conference. After opening speech of the Ambassador Roberto Azevêdo, Director-General of the World Trade Organization, Professor of Economics and Political Science and Regius Professor, London School of Economics, Nobel Laureate in Economic Sciences Christopher A. Pissarides and the Professor of Economics, New York University, Nobel Laureate in Economic Sciences Thomas J. Sargent made speeches.
