Election in Azerbaijan held under law – UK House of Lords

Baku: The Nov.1 parliamentary election in Azerbaijan was held under the law, the member of the British Parliament’s House of Lords Baroness Detta O’Cathain told reporters in Baku on Monday.

O’Cathain said that she came to Azerbaijan five years ago and observed great changes in this visit.

She said that the UK delegation observed election at six polling stations.

“I observed no incident. I would like to emphasize the identification process, which prevents the re-voting. This is a very positive point. Everything was organized at the highest level within security measures. The election process was very orderly,” she said.

A member of British Parliament’s House of Lords Lord David Evans said Azerbaijan has ensured transparent parliamentary election.

“We were also at two polling stations in the districts and note that high security was provided at the polling stations,” he added.
