Detainees in op against Hizmet Movement taken to court

Twenty-five people including lawyers, educators and headscarved women who were handcuffed and detained by the police on Tuesday an operation carried out against the faith-based Gulen movement, popularly known as the Hizmet movement were taken to the court on early Friday.

Taken under custody for four days, the detainees were firstly taken to the hospital for medical check on Thursday. Following the medical check, they were taken to the Manisa court by the police officers.

The operation was performed on the charges of alleged members providing financial support to the “parallel structure,” a term invented by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to refer to the Hizmet movement.
