Constitutional Court rejects appeal against Passolig sports ticketing system

Turkeyand’s top court ruled on Thursday to reject an application against the Passolig electronic ticketing system which critics say alienated would-spectators at football games.
The Passolig system has quickly become controversial since it was launched in last April. The new system makes it no longer possible to purchase match tickets except through individual Passolig credit or debit cards.
Authorities say it has been introduced to reduce incidents of violence in stadiums but critics say it is a measure to silence political slogans that would disturb the government.
