Body of Azerbaijani climber Murad Ashurlu died in Himalayas found

Baku: The body of Azerbaijani climber Murad Ashurlu who tragically died in the Himalayas has been found, Vice-President of Azerbaijan Federation of Mountaineering, Saridan Mursagulov told APA.

He said that President of Azerbaijan Federation of Mountaineering Israfil Ashurlu telephoned him yesterday, informing the body was found.

Mursagulov also said it is not know where Murad Ashurlu will be buried.

“Ashurlu lived with his family in the United States for many years. His family members are in the U.S. It is unknown where he will be buried,” Mursagulov said.

42-year-old Murad Ashurlu died descending Ama Dablam peak (6856 meters) in the Himalayas. Murad Ashurlu is cousin of President of Azerbaijan Federation of Mountaineering Israfil Ashurlu.

President of the Federation Israfil Ashurlu left for Nepal due to the fact.
