Blast in market leaves more than 20 wounded in southeastern Turkey

More than twenty people were injured in a blast, which led to a fire, in the southeastern province of Mardin’s Nusaybin district on Sunday.

The blast took place at around 10:00 p.m. on Nov. 1 in the Selahaddin Eyyubi neighborhood of Mardin’s Nusaybin district. Reportedly, some flats and vehicles burnt at around the market.

Fire squads from the Nusaybin and Kiziltepe districts, police water cannons (TOMA) and fire crews intervened to extinguish the fire. People, who stuck in the building on fire, were rescued after long taking efforts of units by the crane. It was seemed that some wounded people’s hands and legs burnt in fire and some effected by the smoke.

Wounded people were taken to Nusaybin State Hospital by the ambulances.
