Baku says no proposal received from Iran over customs station restoration

The Azerbaijani side has not received any concrete proposals from Iran regarding the restoration of the Khudafarin customs station.

Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee (SCC) Aydin Aliyev made the remark while talking to Trend Agency.

“The Iranian side has repeatedly expressed readiness to support our initiative. Despite this, Azerbaijan’s SCC hasn’t received any real proposals so far,” he said.

The committee head went on to add that the SCC continues to support the restoration of this checkpoint.

Currently, four customs checkpoints operate on the Azerbaijani-Iranian border: Julfa, Shakhtakhty (Poldesht from the Iranian side), Bilasuvar and Astara.
