Baku hosts meeting of Azerbaijan-Russia Joint Commission on Demarcation

Delivering a speech at the meeting, Deputy Foreign Miniter Khalaf Khalafov expressed his hope that the high level of mutual trust between Azerbaijan and Russia, friendly relations will contribute to the resolution of both bilateral and regional issues: “We are confident that as a neighboring country playing an important role in strengthening stability and security in the region and co-chairing country of the OSCE Minsk Group dealing with the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Russia will contribute to the soonest resolution of this bloody conflict lasting for more than 20 years and liberation of the Azerbaijani lands.”

Russian co-chair of the Joint Commission on Demarcation Vadim Postnov said that the document on the border signed by the Presidents opened up vast opportunities for the next works. He added that progress was achieved in the process: “These borders will be boundaries of friendship and bring our peoples closer together. It won’t impede our economic, humanitarian and other relations.”
