Azerbaijan wins Nakhchivan Cup

Azerbaijan has won the Nakhchivan Cup youth freestyle wrestling tournament marking the 91st anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the city of Nakhchivan, AzerTag state news agency reported.

Azerbaijan secured the title after emerging victorious over Ukraine. Azerbaijan reached the final after beating Turkey, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to top the Group A.

Ukraine topped the Group B, which pitted them against Nakhchivan, Russia and Georgia.

Russia finished third after outclassing Kazakhstan.

Chairman of the Wrestling Federation of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Azer Zeynalov and Secretary General of Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation Ajdar Jafarov awarded the winners of the second and third places.

The Azerbaijani wrestlers were awarded with the medal and the cup.
