Azerbaijan to extend privileges for scientists, undergraduate and graduate students

Baku: The draft law “On science”, which was discussed for years in Azerbaijan and approved in the first reading at the latest session of the parliament, will be put into discussion for the next time.

The draft law has been included in the agenda of the parliament’s autumn session, the parliament told APA.

During the discussions, the offers and recommendations sounded in the first reading, as well as the views of various institutions will be studied and reviewed in the Committee of Science and Education and the appropriate ones will be envisaged in the document during the next discussion.

The draft law comprising 8 chapters and 47 articles envisage all the shortcomings observed in this field so far. According to the draft law, Azerbaijani scientists will be able to sell results of their research and products freely in foreign countries. The draft law also offers to allocate preferential loans and plots of land for housing of young scientists and scientific workers in Azerbaijan. It also covers draft deferment for the persons who want to study master’s degree and doctoral degree. Amendments were reportedly made in the new reading.
