Azerbaijan tightening penalties for using armed forces against people and government agencies

Baku: The penalties for using Armed Forces and other armed units, provided in the legislation, against the people and government agencies are being tightened in Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijani Parliament told APA that an amendment has been proposed to article #275.1 of the Criminal Code in this regard.

According to the amendment, the penalty for using Azerbaijani Armed Forces and other armed units, provided in the legislation, against the Azerbaijani people and constitutional government agencies will be 7 up to 12-year imprisonment.

Currently, this figure is 5 up to 10-year imprisonment.

The draft law was recommended to the plenary session of the Azerbaijani Parliament.
