Azerbaijan delivers humanitarian aid to Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Baku: Humanitarian aid sent to flood-affected Serbia by the Ministry of Emergency Situations on May 19 under the instruction of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev was received by President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic, his spouse Dragica Nikolic and state officials.

The employee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations said that the aid was delivered to the friendly Serbian people by the order of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

At her press conference, Mrs. Nikolic thanked Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the Azerbaijani people for the humanitarian aid.

Azerbaijan also sent humanitarian aid to Bosnia and Herzegovina, where floods occurred. Head of the country’s Presidential Administration and Minister of National Security received the aid and thanked Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the Azerbaijani people.

The aid was handed over with the participation of employees of Azerbaijani diplomatic missions.

The aid consists of different equipment, 12 motor boats of various sizes, 260 tents, 300 camp beds, 1500 blankets, 40 power generators, 20 water pumps and etc.”, he said.

Dozens of people were killed and thousands were left without houses as a result of the floods in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
