Arrested 8 organizers of unsanctioned protest in Sabunchu district

Baku: Baku residents Elchin Gasimov and Sahib Habibov were arrested by the officers of Sabunchu district Police Department for minor hooliganism, violating public order in Sabunchu district of Baku city on November 15, 2015, APA reports.

The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs told APA that, it’s reported in the joint statement of Prosecutor General’s Office and Interior Ministry.

The reports says immediately after that, a group of about 60 people, calling themselves the supporters of the religious movement, tried to hold an unsanctioned rally in front of the administrative building of police headquarters to demand the release of detainees.

“Despite the warning of the termination of police actions aimed at disturbing public order, illegal action, participants continued their illegal actions and shouted abusive language against the police officers. They pelted the police with stones and blunt objects, resulting in two employees were injured”, noted in the report.

Had been arrested eight active participants in illegal actions that caused the violation of public order, their illegal actions were logged and the relevant materials were sent to court.

The court of detainees was used administrative detention for a period of 10 days to one month, in accordance with Articles 298 (violation of the order of organizing and holding meetings) and 310 (willful disobedience of a lawful demand of a police officer) of the Code of Administrative Offences of Azerbaijan.

MIA once more noted that in the future will be decisively suppressed all attempts to breach the stability and order in the country.
