Armenia shaken by recent strikes from Azerbaijani army – defense minister

Baku: Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov on Thursday attended an opening ceremony of two residential buildings built in another airbase of the country’s Air Force.

Hasanov met with the flight and technical staff, as well as their family members at the presentation ceremony of the serviced apartments’ keys, congratulating them on behalf of the ministry’s leadership, the defense ministry said.

“It is the fifth building that was constructed and commissioned in the last two months. Besides, the construction of one more five-storey building in this airbase will be completed soon,” the minister said.

Before the end of 2015, over 500 military families will be provided with warm, large, renovated and fully-equipped apartments, Hasanov said, adding that nearly 1,000 single military officers have been given serviced apartments till now.

According to the minister, in the coming months, five more residential buildings will be constructed for military families. “Recently, 490 military officers have been provided with apartments in Ganja city. These activities are being carried out systematically,” he noted.

“We are expanding our activities in other areas too,” the minister said, stressing that the Azerbaijani Army is getting with modern weapons and ammunition, combat vehicles, aircraft, and military equipment.

“New infrastructure meeting current demands is being created in military camps. These complex efforts as well as funds allocated for the military area are a striking example of the care provided to the Armed Forces by the state, people and head of state,” Hasanov said.

Armenia is shaken by recent strikes of the Azerbaijani army, Hasnaov noted. “Within a short period of time, the Azerbaijani army has inflicted strikes on Armenia in main directions,” he said.

“Another leading power among the types of troops to liberate our lands from occupation is the Air Force. The fulfillment of this duty is upon us. I do believe the Azerbaijani soldier will justify the confidence of the people and the president,” he said.

After presenting the keys of new apartments to servicemen, Zakir Hasanov and other ministry officials reviewed the conditions created there.
