Ankara police clash with students during Soma demonstration

ANKARA (CIHAN)- A clash broke out at Middle East Technical University (METU) when students staged a demonstration on mine explosion in Soma town and Berkin Elvan who died during last year’s Gezi Park protests.

Riot police intervened in demonstration of a large group of students who began to march from METU to Justice Ministry building. The group attacked police with Molotov cocktails and stones while police responded with tear gas.

The tension between the two is still ongoing.
